In addition to our performance-based programming, Esperanza Dance Project offers a Peer Advocacy Training to teach students how to be effective and compassionate advocates for themselves and their friends. The training was originally created to educate our dancers so that they could give informed answers to Q&A questions, and all EDP dancers are required to participate in a Peer Advocacy Training workshop every year.

The goals of our Peer Advocacy Training are to:

1. Teach students about consent, healthy vs. unhealthy relationships, and warning signs for substance abuse

2. Help students learn how to respond when someone shares their story
3. Give students tools that they can use to advocate for themselves and others, including local resources

The training is appropriate for high school and college aged students.

If you are interested in bringing a Peer Advocacy Training to your school, please reach out to us at esperanzadanceproject@gmail.com."
